Study of child and adolescent development. Major theories of intellectual, social, and emotional development will be surveyed, as well as stages of physical development. Addresses problems unique to adolescents, such as adolescent egocentrism, body image issues, and substance abuse. Students will examine instructional implications for teachers of developing adolescents.
