In this course, the history of Information visualization, and its key periods of discovery and transformation will be covered. This includes the formation of different types of graphics, charts, and the tools/material that can make them. An emphasis will be placed on ethical, and moral implications of information visualization; including a thorough analysis of design properties that aid in clearly communicating information. Students will have hands-on experience with interpreting data driven design and creating their own. Projects will revolve around data results/stories, and basic creation of visualizations using physical and digital means. Attendance Days/Times: Saturday, 9:30am - Noon (EST)
